Washington State Digital Archives
Washington state was the first state in the country to organize and establish a state digital archives to preserve their historical and genealogical records. The digital archives were established in 2004 and are located in Cheney, Washington. Washington leads the rest of the states with the large amount of records that have been digitized and are available on-line. Access to the digitized records records is open to the public at no charge. To access the records go to digitalarchives.wa.gov. Below is a partial listing of the records they have on-line that will be of interest to the genealogist.
